Over the last 20 years Ben has helped companies, cities, and states through his work in economic development, business consulting, and financial consulting to discover their superpowers and maximize their potential.
He is now turning his focus to helping people, their families, and small businesses to do the same. His mission is to help you discover your superpower, maximize your career, and maximize your wealth and health so that you can achieve financial peace, enjoy your life, and help others.
Ben has advised thousands of people on benefits and financial solutions as President of Insurance Advantage, an independent brokerage that he co-founded 11 years ago. Ben is recognized as a national expert on health insurance, Medicare, life and long-term care insurance, Social Security, college planning, and retirement tax planning.
In addition to his experience at Insurance Advantage, Ben served as COO of a human resources placement firm, he ran the Asian and European divisions for a software company in Tokyo, and he worked extensively in economic development/site selection for companies, cities, and states. He served as Executive Director for the South Carolina Commerce Department in Japan and hosted delegations including Governor Nikki Haley. Ben has traveled to over 25 countries and has lived in Japan, Brazil, & Spain. He’s conversant in Japanese, Portuguese, & Spanish.
Ben’s educational credentials include a B.A. in Finance from Morehouse College, an International MBA from the University of South Carolina, an Economic Development certificate from the University of North Carolina, and Brazilian business certificate from the University of Sao Paulo.
Dedicated to preparing the next generation for career success, Ben authored The Global Superstar: How Your Students Can Develop an Advantage over Global Competition. In this capacity, his book’s concepts have been presented to thousands of students and educators across the U.S. & Canada. He’s passionate about his helping his community and has served on over a dozen education, business chamber, and non-profit boards. He enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife Kim, his two wonderful daughters, and their dog, Sophie.
Ben serves as a Southeast Director for the Financial Education Partnership, a financial literacy non-profit dedicated to helping people become more fiscally fit by conducting free webinars, workshops and personalized one-on-one consultations.
